Streets of GyorGyor, is located in western Hungary, halfway between Vienna and Budapest. The town’s history goes back more than 1,000 years, and it was known as the last defense of Europe during the Turkish occupation. Gyor’s collection of historic buildings is second only to the capital. The Europe Award for Monument Protection was awarded to Gyor for the reconstruction of the Baroque town center.

 

Fabulous churches and palaces, corner balconies and narrow passageways invite the visitor to explore. The inns nestled along the ancient streets are famous for their hospitality. Enjoy the numerous coffee houses and restaurants.  Among the cultural attractions is the famous Gyori Ballet.
